Taste-A Second Helping

The NOLA Project returns by popular demand with the hit play Taste, a delectable comedy from one of New Orleans’ most talented young playwrights, Gabrielle Reisman.  Set in the spirited Bywater on the eve of carnival season, Taste tells the story of six young New Orleanians, some locals, some transplants who find themselves preparing for the hallowed ritual that is dinner in the Big Easy.  While cooking a meal in a house that may be under construction or may be under demolition (only time and money will really tell), new friendships sizzle, old ones scorch, and dinner is ultimately served.  The Time Picayune has called Taste “vital and piquant…featuring some of the best local actors on the scene…bravo and bon apetit!”

Taste will be presented on the Muriel’s Cabaret Theatre stage at Le Petit Theatre where, in August, The NOLA Project played to full houses with the dark comedy Mr. Marmalade.  And at the play’s mouthwatering conclusion, audience members will partake in the meal prepared live onstage!

The cast and crew is a diverse combination of NOLA Project veterans.  Ashley Ricord teams up with NOLA once more as director, where she will helm actors A.J. Allegra, James Bartelle, Kristin Witterschein, Emilie Whelan, Richard Alexander Pomes, and James Yeargain. The show will begin performances on Thursday, January 14 and will play Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 8:30pm for two weeks, concluding on January 24.  Tickets are $20.  To order call 504.522.2081 or visit www.lepetittheatre.com.
