The disease of systemic racism, grown out of our nation’s original sin of slavery, is something that cannot be ignored and must be dismantled. For this to happen, truths must be spoken, reflections must be examined, and white leaders, police forces, and citizens must actively choose to be antiracist and to call out injustice and racism when and where it occurs. As an organization whose mission it is to tell stories to and about our community, we must do better and be better as well. Though public health and safety is paramount now, we hope that everyone in our community, ourselves included, will take necessary actions to educate ourselves, declare injustice when we see it, and work to collectively dismantle the awful plague of racism. No excuses.

OUR STORY
The NOLA Project is a theatre company made up of actors inspired by the energy of New Orleans. In 2005, while studying at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Founding Artistic Director Andrew Larimer assembled an ensemble of artists to create a theatre in New Orleans with the highest dramatic standards. The company enlisted the expertise of James Tripp, Head of Acting at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, to advise and direct the company’s first several productions. Additional actors from New York, New Orleans, and elsewhere were brought in to create a versatile stable of performers to produce great classical and contemporary plays for the community to enjoy.
Today the itinerant company is one of the most-innovative and vibrant nonprofit theatre companies in the entire Gulf South, comprised of 21 theatre artists, with a regular theatrical season and a strong and diverse fan base. The goal of The NOLA Project is to produce the finest and most-exciting theatre in New Orleans, and to put the city of New Orleans on the national map as a major player in the American regional-theatre scene.
The NOLA Project is a member theatre of the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) and an associate member theatre of the National New Play Network (NNPN).
